I went through and did some updating on the permissions for Members of this group. You guys are now allowed to submit art to the gallery and create journal entries, though both of these require the approval of one other higher up person before they are officially added. Now if you make some cool art or find some, you'll be able to add it to the group :)

Contributors also got an update, but it was less straight forward. You guys can check it out in the admin area if you'd like. The main thing is that you can submit things to the gallery without needing approval. I think you can maybe also sort things into folders so if you do add something, please sort it if you could :)

Also, we shall make a forum! At some point. I'll let you all know when that ends up happening. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Though since most people are allowed to submit journals now, feel free to propose some discussion topics for us to chat about here until then.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone have songs or playlists they find evocative of C:tL?

I suggest Yann Tiersen, especially Rue de Cascades.
His tunes are magical and subtle (some are a bit too "french", though), and this one is especially wistful, beautiful and mysterious, feelings with what I associate Changeling with.
I think if the tune is either full of longing and beautiful, or disturbing and beautiful, it's the Changeling music. The decorations change, after all - they can be modern America, medieval France, something with a hint of Asia or Arab - but the feelings associated with Fae stay mostly the same.

Oh, I certainly do. In fact, if we'd ever gotten a forum for the group, I'd been considering making a topic on it. But alas.

Hopefully one day the forums will become real. I ended up having a stupid busy summer. I'll probably post a journal about it soonish.

Oh, cool! And don't worry about being a bit slow on that...hell, it was only just last week that I only wrote my first poem since the Secret Santa last year. >.<

True, it would be easier to manage that way, but care to share any of your songs? I've only got 'Afraid' by The Neighborhood, and 'Dark Waltz' by Haley Westenra (composed by Frank Musker). The latter sounds a little more like a Fairest song than a general Changeling one though.

(Sorry in advance for how long I go on. :lmao:)
I gave those a listen. The overall tone of "Afraid" I thought was a bit off, but lyrically fit very well. What sold me though was the chorus. That definitely hit on the fears of the Lost. The second, I actually didn't catch most of the lyrics on, but I did ere fit well, and the sound of it fit too, yes. Inclined to agree too, with the sound and the lyrics, probably best suits a fairest.

Oh, I have a lot I've come across over the past few years (same for :iconjack-kaiser:, who introduced me to some of these tunes), though I'll start with a few. Now, a lot I've found, I'll admit, come from the fact Jack and I both like metal and old, European folk music (especially combined), so if those aren't your things...sorry. Though the old folk stuff, esp. the Irish and Slavic stuff it seems, actually fit well in a setting sense, and though a lot of it we can't understand, that only seems to make it fit even better. :lmao:

Anyway, to start, I tend to come up with characters, or character developments through song. So here's a few from a list I made based off a character of mine, Petra, a metal-loving fairest. I'll leave out the more character-specific ones.
First actually is "Blue" by the Birthday Massacre, one of the first I associated with Changeling. For that one, the video is the most changeling thing about it, though the duality between the sweet, singing parts and the dark, growling ones I think fits a changeling's dual nature. youtu.be/kp1FRKc24Zk
The second is "Zakliatie" by Arkona. No idea what she's saying, but she sounds pissed and menacing, heh. Not to mention the instrumentation. youtu.be/PY8XKQIeKW8
Last for now is "Garden" by Lita Ford, a song most fitting a Spring courtier, I suppose. Though, with the lyrics "Come into my garden," also works for a Fae or loyalist, I think. youtu.be/PY8XKQIeKW8
